Bode Ice Arena

Bode Ice Arena opened in 1975 as this 30,000 square foot facility provides:

  • Ice surface that is 185 by 85 feet
  • Full ice skate rental (figure or hockey) toddler size seven - adult 15
  • Seating area of 500 bleachers
  • Locker rooms
  • Warming room
  • Concession stand
  • Tables and chairs
  • Restrooms
  • Video games

Public Sessions

View the scheduled monthly (PDF) events. Private parties will be available on a first come, first serve, basis. Parties and Private party times (PDF) are available as well as for:

Broomball

Broomball is available to be played on private ice sessions. For more information or to schedule parties, please call 271-5506.

Greater St. Joseph Youth Hockey Association

The association holds all practices at Bode Ice Arena and promotes a number of teams including:

  • Atoms
  • Mites
  • Squirts
  • PeeWee                
  • Junior varsity                
  • Varsity

Practices are held Monday through Thursday evenings and all games are played on weekends. The association is a member of USA Hockey and the high school team is a member of the Kansas City Metro Hockey Association. For more information, please call 233-9595 or visit their Facebook page.

St. Joseph Figure Skating Club

The club is a competitive skating club. The club freestyle times are early evening Monday through Friday. Aside from being regional competitors, the club hosts the Pony Express Figure Skating Championships held at the ice arena in September.
