Presented by instructors Gina Lucas, University of Missouri Extension & Vickie Kempf, Arthritis Community Services, this free program will cover a variety of topics to help persons struggling with chronic pain. Topics include: techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, isolation and poor sleep, learning the Moving Easy Program, appropriate use of medications, communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals, nutrition, pacing activity and rest, and evaluating new treatments. This program is free of charge and will meet at the Joyce Raye Patterson 50+ Activity Center, 100 S 10th Street, St. Joseph, MO on Wednesday's from 9-11 am beginning May 19 and ending June 23. Each participant will receive a free reference book and a guided relaxation cd. Feel better. Be in control. There IS something YOU can do!
