Parks Passport

This free program encourages community members to get outside and enjoy the local opportunities. To register, fill out this form for each participating child. For more information, visit the St. Joseph Missouri Parks, Recreation, and Civic Facilities Facebook page.  Download the Parks Passport booklet to find a list of all participating playgrounds.

Trails

The hike and bike trails provide a safe alternative system for bicycle and pedestrian travel throughout the community. This system parallels the parkway system and gives the biker or pedestrian a constant beautiful scenic view as well as being free from vehicular traffic.

Tennis

Noyes Tennis Complex has 12 outdoor courts and hosts all local high school matches and tournaments along with home matches for Missouri Western State University. Hyde Park has three outdoor courts, as does North Side Complex and Corby Grove. These courts are more of a recreational nature.

The St. Joseph Parks and Recreation Department will host a youth tennis program during July at the Noyes Tennis Center. The program will be divided into three age divisions.  Registration is available online.

Pickleball

Three outdoor pickleball courts are located at the Bode Sports complex for recreational play. Up to six indoor pickleball courts are located at the St. Joseph REC Center.  The REC Center offers open gym pickleball on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-12pm. For more information about the indoor pickleball courts, please call 271-5512.

Cornhole

League play consists of doubles matches.  For more information about cornhole league registrations, please contact David Cavin at 816-271-5518 or email David Cavin. For more information about the adult cornhole league, visit the Facebook page.

Horseshoes

Horseshoe courts are located at Noyes Athletic Complex (16), John Lucas Center, and Northside Complex. Approximately four tournaments a year are held at Noyes Athletic Complex. For information on tournaments, please call 816-232-5577.

Nature Trail

Located behind the four-acre Corby Pond, this popular trail can be accessed from the northeast side of the pond off the parkway. Mammals, birds, trees, and vegetation highlight this scenic trail utilized for educational trips and nature enthusiasts.
