Councilmember Andrew Trout

A St. Joseph native, Dr. Andrew Trout serves in the Air Force as a medical commander and formerly operated a private dental practice with his father, Jim, for nearly 30 years. A graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School, Andy studied at Missouri Western State University and graduated from University of Missouri Columbia with a degree in agriculture.  He then earned a masters in leadership/management and a Doctor of dental surgery from UMKC. 

Andy has participated in many associations in St. Joseph, from Boy Scouts to church groups and civic organizations, following in his mother Judy’s footsteps as a civic volunteer. He has two incredible children, one of whom serves Buchanan County as a sheriff’s deputy, and one is a talented airline pilot.

Andy serves as the City Council representative to the legal and human resources departments, as well as the Aviation Board and liaison to the 139th Airlift Wing.
