The start of a new decade means it’s time for another census to be conducted in the United States. It’s important as for every person counted, our state receives $1,300 of federal funding for education, public transportation, emergency food and shelter, and health services. Also, when residents respond to the census, the state gets needed representation in Congress. Residents should be on the lookout for a postcard in March with information on how to complete the 2020 Census. National Census Day is April 1, as by this date every home should have received a postcard to participate in the 2020 Census. For more information, visit the Missouri 2020 Census page.
