Tax Increment Financing Commission


Meetings are held as needed, at such times as the board determines necessary to fulfill their required duties.


This commission consists of six members appointed by the mayor with council approval for four-year terms, as well as five additional members who serve only on a project by project basis. Two of those five members are appointed by the county, two are appointed by the school district, and the final member is appointed by the remaining taxing jurisdictions located within the proposed redevelopment area for the particular project involved.

About the Commission

The commission:

  • Operates under the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act of the Missouri Revised Statutes
  • Holds public hearings and vote on all proposed redevelopment plans, redevelopment projects and designations of redevelopment areas, and amendments thereto
  • Makes recommendations to the City Council concerning the adoption of the same
